Spanish cyclists Alberto Contador shows support for Lance Armstrong who had just lost seven Tour de France title after a positive deemed conduct doping program for years.
"For me, Lance Armstrong was treated with disrespect," said Contador, winner of two Tour de France who had just finished serving a two-year doping effect last August.
"In my view, Armstrong was very embarrassed. He was destroyed," said the rider in the team Saxo Bank-Tinhoff it.
Even for a teammate while both strengthening Armstrong Astana team was not too good relationship with the U.S. cyclists, Contador claimed to be surprised by the investigation's doping case.
"Right now all the talk about Armstrong, but never held a new test or anything," said Contador.
"The investigation is based only on the testimony that may have been made since 2005," he added.
"I respect the decision of every rider, but if I could choose, I would like to happen earlier," Contador connect.
However, said Contador, Armstrong has a major role in popularizing cycling, at least in the United States.
"I do not know if there is strong evidence. Which I know, we should be grateful to him for popularizing bicycle racing in the U.S.," he said.
"If the U.S. citizens know the Tour de France, then it is her service. If there is a great team and did the race in the U.S., then that service to him," Contador said.
Apart from the case of Armstrong, Contador doping assess inspection system is sufficient and does not need to be updated.
"There was no need to change now. Test (doping) which we are living is sufficient," Contador said.
About the number of people who doubt the 'honesty' of a bike rider, Contador can understand.
"I say, they have to believe that many bike riders who can win the race without any assistance, including the Tour de France," said Contador finish his comments.
